Piffaro’s Response to COVID-19

In light of current projections of the progress of COVID-19, we are cancelling our May 15-17 concerts in Philadelphia and Wilmington.

This saddens all of us greatly, but I hope that you stay home and stay healthy so that one day soon we can come joyfully together again.

Composer Kile Smith is preparing a beautiful new creation on the theme of Ave Maris Stella for this program, which is supported by The Presser Foundation and the National Endowment for the Arts, so we’re working very hard to reschedule. I promise to keep you posted. To those of you who see our musicians at various festivals and workshops over the summer, please check in with the organizers.

These are trying times for musicians in the early music field, so I’m proud to share that Piffaro’s board of directors voted unanimously to pay our musicians their full compensation for the canceled concerts. If you’ve purchased tickets to the May concerts, or have unused tickets remaining on your Flex Pass, you have several options:

  1. Convert the value of your ticket/remaining Flex Pass into a tax-deductible donation – you would help us finish this season “in the black;”
  2. Apply a credit to next season – you would help us start the 20/21 season strong;
  3. Request a refund – we know that many of you are now experiencing financial difficulties yourselves, and will process these transactions as quickly as possible.

Click the button below to indicate your preference. Don’t forget your contact info so that I can follow up with you.

I look forward to the day when I can once again be with you in a room ringing with the sound of Piffaro’s glorious instruments.

Shannon Cline, Executive Director, Piffaro
